God designed you in His image. Unlike all the other animals in the world, you are designed in God’s image. Animals, birds and reptiles aren’t designed in the image of God. You can discern and choose between right and wrong. You have a consciousness, but animals don’t. You can talk to God. You can pray to God. Animals can’t do that. In fact, the Bible says in Psalm 8:5, “You have made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honour”. This is the creative purpose of God for your life.
But for you to be born into this world you have to be formed, and the baby’s lifeline as it grows is in the womb. The womb is exposed to the enemy, who would love to divert your destiny. Your mother who carries you in the womb has a sinful nature, and the enemy can have access to jeopardise your future.
Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me. Psalm 51:5
This is why we need to be born again in the womb of the Holy Spirit, who can resurrect the original intent for our creation. Now for a moment, think about how God knit you together in your mother’s womb. Our Father uses such a tender illustration of how He lovingly and carefully created our being. He could have blasted us together, but He chose a more delicate process in which He could be intimately involved as He formed us in our mother’s womb. The way God so cherishes us upsets the enemy; therefore, he attacks.
